List of Events
This is a programme of our main retreats for 2018. Other events will be announced on the Latest News page. You are welcome to come at any time for spiritual guidance, to join in the daily routine of the Augustinian Community and to enjoy the peace and prayerfulness of Clare Priory.
|Way of Silence - in our busy lives today we can lose sight of God and what matters in life. St Teresa of Calcutta says "God is a friend in silence. His language is silence." It is through this silence that we come to know God, the teacher within, our hidden treasure. These days are for those who wish to have a time of silence and prayer. They are lead by our Priory Team who wish to share their experience of silent prayer, or meditation as it is also known. They are for those who are experienced in the practice of silent prayer, and for those who wish to learn and find out more about this way of praying. Everyone is welcome. A 'Way of Silence' day is an opportunity to learn about and practice contemplative prayer - the key to intimacy with God, self-knowledge and inner change. Jesus said "Go to your inner room, and God who is there, will teach you everything." 10.30 to 3.00pm

On the second Saturday and Sunday of July the grounds of the Priory are given over to a Craft Fair which is usually extremely well received. There is a small charge for admission but there is a wonderful variety of art and crafts on display with a number of exhibitors demonstrating, including lace-making, wool-spinning, metalwork, woodturning, and many more. There are also children's entertainers, refreshments, hot and cold food, and a licensed bar.
Photos from previous events are accessible by visiting the Craft Fair page.
The 2019 Craft Fair is due to be held on the weekend of July 14th/15th. We will contact all registered exhibitors around late February/March just as soon as we are ready to invite applications, there is no need to re-register even if you have not yet taken part.
